Supporting community sports clubs to build structure, sustainability, and long-term success

SixYard Analytics supports community sports clubs with practical strategy, planning, and delivery frameworks that strengthen pathways, performance, and long-term sustainability.

Founded by Colum McGrath, SixYard Analytics was created to address a common challenge across grassroots sport: clubs are built on commitment and goodwill, but too often lack the structure, tools, and support needed to grow with confidence.

SixYard provides accessible, affordable, and realistic support — helping clubs introduce clear systems that protect volunteers, strengthen development, and support long-term success.

About SixYard Analytics

SixYard Analytics was founded to support clubs that care deeply about what they do, but are often stretched by limited time, volunteer capacity, and long-term planning challenges.

I started SixYard after seeing the same patterns across community sport again and again: committed people doing incredible work, but without the structured support, tools, or frameworks that larger organisations take for granted.

SixYard brings those planning and development tools into a community-sport context — in a way that is realistic, practical, and built around volunteers rather than corporate models.

The focus is simple: help clubs strengthen how they plan, deliver, and grow — so the effort people put in leads to lasting impact.

The SixYard Approach

SixYard supports clubs through a structured but flexible process that helps move from informal practice toward clear, shared systems.

The aim is not to add work — but to help the work already being done deliver stronger, longer-lasting results.

How the approach works in practice

Every engagement follows a clear but flexible structure designed around volunteer capacity and club reality. The four stages below outline how SixYard works with clubs — from initial conversations through to planning, delivery, and ongoing support.

Discovery & Understanding

Every engagement begins with listening. This stage focuses on understanding how the club currently operates, who is involved, and what challenges and ambitions exist across the club. Through structured conversations and light information gathering, SixYard builds a clear picture of the club’s people, priorities, and pressures before any recommendations are made. This ensures that all support is grounded in the club’s reality, volunteer capacity, and long-term goals.

Structured Review

Reviewing the club across four core areas:

  • Player Pathway

  • Performance Analysis

  • Commercial Growth

  • Digital & Community Engagement

Identifying what’s working, where strain exists, and where structure can help most.

Planning & Tools

This stage focuses on turning understanding into clear, practical action. The club receives structured planning documents, modular reports, and ready-to-use tools that support delivery across pathways, performance, commercial foundations, and community engagement. All materials are designed to be accessible, adaptable, and volunteer-friendly, giving the club clear priorities, practical frameworks, and usable resources to support confident implementation.

Support & Follow-Up

Light ongoing support is provided to help embed new systems, review progress, and adjust priorities as the club moves from planning into delivery.

How SixYard Supports Clubs

SixYard Analytics provides structured, practical support services for community sports clubs.

All services are built around clear planning frameworks and real-world delivery tools that help clubs strengthen development, improve sustainability, and support long-term growth — without increasing pressure on volunteers.

Support is delivered through four core service areas, which can be accessed individually or combined as part of a wider club development programme.
